If you've been looking for a new way to experience South Delta, it's time to dust off your bike. Delta's brand-new Barns to Beaches cycling route is more than just a bike path—it's an invitation to slow down, explore our communities, support local businesses, and discover why so many of us love calling Ladner and Tsawwassen home.Stretching approximately 16 km one way, the route connects Tsawwassen and Ladner along peaceful country roads, shoreline dykes, and some of the most beautiful scenery in the Lower Mainland. Whether you're an avid cyclist or simply looking for a leisurely afternoon ride, this route offers something for everyone.
Make a Day of it: There are many great stops within minutes! One of the best parts of the Barns to Beaches route is that it naturally connects some of South Delta's favourite restaurants and gathering places.

Barnside Brewing sits among Delta's farmland in one of the most picturesque country settings you'll find anywhere. Known for brewing beer using locally grown ingredients from neighbouring farms, Barnside has become a destination in its own right. Grab a flight of craft beer, relax on the spacious patio, enjoy some delicious food, and soak in the peaceful farm atmosphere. It's hard to believe you're only minutes from the city.
Four Winds Brewing — The Original Tap House Beer lovers won't want to miss Four Winds Brewing Co., the brewery that helped put Delta on British Columbia's craft beer map. Their original tap house is famous for award-winning beer and outstanding tacos, making it a favourite destination for cyclists and food lovers alike.
Waterfront Dining at The River House Restaurant & Pub Bike a little further and enjoy a relaxing stop at overlooking the Fraser River, this local favourite offers beautiful waterfront views, a spacious patio, and a delicious menu that's perfect for lunch or an afternoon break. Sit back, enjoy the scenery, and watch the boats drift by while taking in one of Ladner's most peaceful waterfront settings. From here you can also explore the Millennium Trail that connects Deas Island Park to Ladner.
Once you are ready to head south towards Tsawwassen one of the route's most unique features is riding through the historic Cow Tunnel. Originally built as a livestock underpass, it has been transformed into a cycling and pedestrian tunnel that pays tribute to Delta's rich farming heritage while providing a fun and memorable stop along the route.
Brunch with a View at L'Aromas Skycafé Head over to at Boundary Bay Airport for a delicious meal. Watching small aircraft take off while enjoying breakfast on the patio is a uniquely Delta experience that visitors always remember.
Patio Time at Kings Links Golfers and non-golfers alike will appreciate the gorgeous patio at Kings Links by the Sea. It's the perfect place to recharge with great food, and stunning views overlooking the beautifully maintained course.
As you continue south, the route follows the spectacular Boundary Bay Dyke Trail, one of the most scenic waterfront rides in Metro Vancouver. With panoramic views across Boundary Bay, endless skies, wildlife, and ocean breezes, this stretch alone is worth the ride.
A perfect way to finish your adventure is at Four Winds Beach House & Brewery in Southlands. With an incredible patio, outstanding food, locally crafted beer, and an unbeatable atmosphere, it's quickly becoming one of Delta's favourite gathering places. Whether you're celebrating a long ride or simply enjoying a summer evening, it's hard to imagine a better finish.
